Justin Goss is a second year Master of Public Policy student at the McCourt School, and Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Public Policy Review. He is a native Californian, specializing in research methods and econometrics. He currently works as a Research Associate at the Georgetown Center on Education and the Workforce as part of their State's Initiative and has previously worked as an analyst in Telecommunications and Health and Human Services policy.
Austin Kabbaz Szabo is the Senior Spring Media Editor for GPPR and designer of the GPPR Spring website and images. Originally from Los Angeles, he is pursuing a Masters in Public Policy at the McCourt School in Georgetown. He has a B.A. in Political Science and Classical Civilizations from Loyola Marymount University, where he was a Senior Editor for Asia Media International and led the university's Archeology Center. While at McCourt, he interned for the Vera Institute of Justice, where he found himself a passion for comprehensive Criminal Justice Reform. He’s also passionate about women’s rights and ending income inequality, and dreams of living in an truly liberated world. He loves archery, baking, and awful music.
A Chicago native, Kathy Wroblewska is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Policy degree from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. She has a B.A. in History from the University of Chicago, with a minor in Human Rights. Prior to returning to graduate school, Kathy served as an AmeriCorps member with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, a food bank in Chicago, and then worked there for an additional two years with the SNAP Outreach Department. While in McCourt, she interned at a think tank in DC working on issues related to food assistance programs. Kathy is interested broadly in social policy, and particularly in federal safety net programs. In her spare time, she enjoys trying out new restaurants, cooking new cuisines, catching up with Chip and Jo on HGTV, and hanging out with her super fluffy dog, Copper.
Piotr was raised in Warsaw, Poland. At the age of 16 he moved to the U.S. and obtained a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Political Economies from the University of California, Berkeley. He spent one year in economic litigation with a focus on financial services. At McCourt, his main focus has been data science, analysis and visualization. Kristina is a second year full time MPP student and a GPPR Senior Media Editor. Prior to enrolling in the McCourt MPP program, she was a program evaluation analyst for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago - working particularly with the organization's preschool and afterschool programs. She also completed an AmeriCorps service year at After School Matters, a nonprofit focused on youth employment, where she worked on program evaluation and staff development. During her time at McCourt she has worked as a Research Assistant for the Center on Children in the US, an intern for New America, and Co-Director of the Policy Innovation Lab. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University. Overall, her policy interests include education and urban and community development. In her free time she enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, photography, and dabbling in graphic design.
Yixuan Huang is a second year MPP student at the McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University. Originally from Guangzhou, China, she earned her bachelor’s degree at Wuhan University, China. She is interested in advocacy and research on progressive policies. She is currently working at Human Rights Campaign and the Institute for Women’s Policy Research.
Emily is a second year Master of Public Policy evening student at the McCourt School of Public Policy. A Minnesota native, Emily earned a B.A. in Communication and minors in Nonprofit Leadership and Leadership from the University of North Dakota. She currently works full time as a Senior Content Strategist for federal clients in the Deloitte Digital DC studio.
Olivia Cook hails from central Florida where she received her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations in 2015. While pursuing her degree, she developed a love for policy, research, and critical dialogue. Her primary area of interest is climate change and the environment, but she is particularly interested in how social and economic issues intersect with environmental challenges. In the past, she has interned for organizations such as the Edible Peace Patch Project and Better Future Project, where she developed garden science curriculum and led environmental advocacy events, respectively. Ever the generalist, Olivia also enjoys a good old-fashioned discussion on post-modern and post-colonial theory. Currently, Olivia is pursuing her Masters of Public Policy full-time while also working as a Research Assistant and serving as an Outreach Coordinator for McCourt Energy and Environment (when she isn’t busy chopping paragraphs and eliminating passive voice for GPPR, of course). After completing her studies, she plans to work in the field of environmental policy so that she can continue exploring ways communities can live more sustainably.
Jessica Li is in her first year at the McCourt School of Public Policy studying for a Master's of International Development Policy. Previous to graduate school, she worked as an editor for four years at a consulting company in DC overseeing the publication and production process for numerous deliverables to the US Agency for International Development. Before DC, she served as chief editor in the book publishing division of a media company in Shanghai.
Gianna is a first-year MPP student at Georgetown's McCourt School of Public Policy, with policy interests in international economic policy and financial crimes. She received her BA in economics from Bard College in 2016. In addition to attending McCourt, Gianna also works at the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice as a budget analyst trainee. At Georgetown, she has also served as the first-year Treasurer in GPPSA, as well as the Director of Finance for the Women in Public Policy Initiative.
